On Wednesday, Jan. 11, Friends Academy welcomed Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman who visited Friends Academy to ceremoniously approve new county-issued bonds, which will pave the way to the addition of a new innovation center on our campus.
The new innovation center is slated to open in the fall of 2024 and will offer new classrooms and labs for biology, chemistry, engineering, and physics instruction, as well as space for some of the school's newest programs (Solutions in Medicine, Bloomberg Terminals, and Entrepreneurial Studies). These signature programs span all divisions, from Lower to Upper School.
“The students who come here will benefit from this going forward,” stated Mr. Blakeman who urged the students around him to continue to study hard. “We have a lot of people who graduated from Friends Academy, whether in technology, law, medicine, education, or business – you name it – the people who graduated from this fine institution have contributed to America and this community,” he added. “It starts right here with dedicating this new venture.”
